Created by Marje Newman, founder of the Breast Cancer Survivors of Verrado, a few hundred participants showed up for the October 10, 2014 First Annual Breast Cancer Warriors of Verrado Walk & 5K in Victory at Verrado. A few breast cancer survivors of Verrado
According to www.dosomething.org, it is estimated “that each year over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 40,000 will die.” However, that staggering statistic has been declining since the 1900’s thanks to modern medical advances. Some of which are due to early detection, better screening, increased awareness, and new treatment options. These discoveries were made possible by the assistance of charity money raised each year.
